Discografía Thin Lizzy



Thin Lizzy es una banda de hard rock irlandesa formada en Dublín en 1969. La banda originalmente fue liderada por el cantante, bajista y compositor Phil Lynott. Uno de los grandes éxitos del grupo es el tema "The Boys Are Back in Town", todo un clásico de la historia del rock.
El crítico John Dugan escribió que mientras la banda cobraba fuerza, Lynott era aún más inteligente y profundo a la hora de escribir las canciones, prefiriendo temas basados en las clases sociales, dramas de amor y odio, influído por Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen y por la literatura irlandesa. En una entrevista a Phil Lynott, éste aseguró que su mayor influencia fue Van Morrison. La música de la banda cubrió mucho territorio, incluyendo el country y el folk, pero generalmente se les considera como una banda de heavy metal o hard rock.
Aunque bandas anteriores ya usaban técnicas similiares, Thin Lizzy se caracterizó por ser una de las primeras bandas de hard rock en utilizar dos guitarras melódicas a la vez, una técnica en la que Wishbone Ash fueron pioneros en el Reino Unido, y que por su parte también era utilizada por Lynyrd Skynyrd en los Estados Unidos. Esta técnica fue refinada más tarde y popularizada por bandas emergentes de la nueva ola de heavy metal en el Reino Unido, como Judas Priest y especialmente Iron Maiden. Estos últimos particularmente han elogiado mucho a Thin Lizzy a lo largo de su carrera, incluso tocaron una versión de su canción "Massacre". Ejemplos de este duelo de guitarras en armonía se pueden escuchar perfectamente en la canción "The Boys Are Back In Town" y "Cowboy Song" del álbum "Jailbreak"
